Robert's fascination with the beauty of nature is obvious in his work. Even more important to this artist is the constant exploration into the use of light and color to convey emotion. A lifelong pursuit, he intends!

Robert Byrne first delved into the world of art with a cliché - the famous "Draw Me" advertisement! Since those early days, he has avidly studied watercolors with Keith Thomas, and oils with Stan Perrott; graduated with honors in Advertising Art from the Alberta College of Art; worked as a commercial artist in studios from Vancouver, British Columbia to Bombay, India; and finally left commercial art behind in 1989 to pursue landscape and wildlife painting, western art, and commissioned portraits on a full-time basis.
